NAOSH (North American Occupational Safety and Health) Week was held in May across Canada and the entire Kool Pak Canada team actively participated in safety and health events throughout the week. The goal of NAOSH Week is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.
In recognition of their stellar safety and education initiatives, Kool Pak Canada was notified of the General Trucking Award from the NAOSH Week Steering Committee-BC on August 13th. Kool Pak Canada takes the importance of safety seriously and created daily activities to promote safety and educate staff during the annual event. All the office staff, company drivers and owner operators were actively involved in the variety of educational events – from safe driving and truck maintenance procedures, to healthy eating and exercise. Certificates and prizes were awarded in these categories: 1. Best Clean Truck 2. Best Trip Inspection 3. Best Vehicle Backing 4. Best e-logbook 5. Walking over 6000 steps. In addition, the NAOSH safety slogan, People Passion and Prevention, was spoken in 5 languages, English, French, Spanish, Hindi and Punjabi.
The 2019 BC CSSE/BC NAOSH Safety Forum and Awards Luncheon will be held in late November to honor award recipients and recognize their achievement.
NAOSH Week was first launched in June 1997 in an agreement between Canada, the United States and Mexico. CSSE’s Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Week (COHS) was previously observed from 1986-1996.
Congratulations to Kavita and Polar Express / Kool Pak Canada’s Health & Safety committee for their contributions to the health and safety of our staff and company!
