As published in the November 2017 issue of Refrigerated Transporter magazine, Kool Pakº has embraced the technology of the Koolº Shield to protect your temperature-controlled products from exposure to high temperatures during the trailer unloading process. This article highlights the use of the Koolº Shield in our trailers which ensures the safety of your goods while in our care.
In 2012, one of our Kool Pakº drivers recognized the need to address this safety consideration. Over the next few months, Kool Pakº designed, developed and patented the Kool Shield as a way to protect temperature-sensitive products throughout the cold chain.
Today the Kool Shield is sold throughout the country by Humboldt Specialty Manufacturing, and the transportation industry recognizes the importance of protecting shippers’ goods from temperature abuse. With the impending implementation of additional facets of the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), it is incumbent on all carriers to utilize any devices and tools that protect and ensure the safe keeping of their customer’s products.
In addition to equipping our entire fleet with the Kool Shield, all of our trailers are dual temp reefer units which carefully maintain the right temperature for all of your products. Food safety has always been Kool Pak’s number one priority.
