At Kool Pakº, we’ve had a significant increase in demand since mid-October. Freight volumes have increased dramatically, holding up through the holidays and appears, this will continue through the winter and beyond. Holiday freight typically declines following the heavy holiday period however we are anticipating ongoing heavy demand. We have struggled with weather issues, a shortage of trucks and an abundance of freight over the last three months. We anticipate this trend to continue for the foreseeable future as industry experts are predicting greater demand and a continuation of the driver shortage issue. The January 2018 Stephens Transportation/Trucking Industry Note predicts steady growth for a multi-year period.
Kool Pakº has been working very hard to add drivers and equipment to meet the demand. We expect to hire 15 – 20 additional drivers in the current period and will continue to be aggressive in our recruiting efforts. Our challenges are not unlike the majority of our industry; yet we seek to maintain our quality of service standards and selectively recruit employees who share our beliefs. With the support of our customers and employees, we are very optimistic about the future.
